Watch These Signs of Gaslighting Manager, So You Won’t Be a Victim

11 Red Flags to Watch Out

Have you ever been in a situation where you did not do anything wrong? However, someone was so adamantly trying to prove otherwise by collecting all the information, making observations, spreading lies, and persuading others to believe that you were wrong.

Finally, the consensus said that you were wrong, but you still did not have a clue at all. If that is so, you were the victim of a psychological gaslighting manager. So, watch for these signs.

1. Fake Person

They are so fake or double-faced. In front of you, they are polite, well-mannered, well-spoken, and full of courtesy as they are trying to win your heart. They seem to be kind to you. They keep on saying that they support and help you.

2. Tell Lies

Behind your back, they spread lies about you to others. They also persuade and convince others that you do something wrong.

3. Have an Exclusive Group

A fake person will never act alone. They have an exclusive group and operate in a group. So, when they spread lies about you to others, the lies will amplify to the highest magnitude, and it makes it easier for others to believe it was true.

4. Watch You

They watch you every single move. They wait for a time when you will make a mistake. Sometimes you can catch a glimpse of their eyes, then they pretend not to look at you.

5. Everything Is Your Responsibility

When you need help and support from them, then they make you believe that it is your responsibility, so you work extra. Eventually, you find out the disparity in support/treatment.

6. Denial

When you confront them about the disparity in support, they also convince you that it was not the case. They convince you that the support is a situational case based on urgency. Until one day, you realise that they only support their group.

7. Make You Isolated

Once you confront them, then they spread more lies about you to others. This time, the lies spread outside their exclusive group. As a result, not many people want to talk to you, and you feel isolated.

8. Devalue You

They also devalue you. They make you believe that you do not do a great job. They also make you miss an opportunity to learn by not letting you know or excluding you.

9. Inconsistent Statement

When they need you, they will commend you for your excellent performance. However, it won’t last long. When they don’t need you, they will commend and highlight your weaknesses.

10. Blame You

Again, you cannot confront them, because they will collect all information, and observations until one day you make a mistake. Then, they will report your mistake without mercy and empathy to the highest authority.

11. Harsh Punishment

Finally, despite all the hard work and your good performance. They can convince the highest authority that you are not a good person at all. You are full of lies and you are incapable.

Final Advice

When you find yourself in this situation, try to move to another environment immediately because you can’t win, and it will drive you mental.
